This is me—I have no clever caption or fancy story. I’m living a messy as hell life with my beautiful baby boy and trying to be a more intentional version of myself everyday. Most days I question everything I’m doing and don’t feel good enough and some days (usually when the sun is shining and the coffee is hot) I feel like a motherfucking badass woman and mama. Can I get an amen? I’ve talked with a lot of people recently who mention how it looks like I’ve got it all figured out by what they see me posting and while in some respects I feel that could be true, in others I definitely fall short. So for all of you guys hustlin’ like there’s no tomorrow, grinding on no sleep, and dealing with personal shit behind the scenes—you’re in good company. This is my first time with him being sick for more than a day or two and my anxious mama bear is starting to come out. I feel like sometimes I’m spinning my wheels so fast trying to do and be it all that I never really take a deep breath and slooooooow down to let creativity in. See ya 2018 it’s been real, but I have this tingling feeling that 2019 is about to be the best year yet! What are some things you’re thankful for from 2018? One of my favorite ways to photograph rings is this type of stack. I feel like it not only shows off each ring’s uniqueness but also shows how each ring needs to lean on the other in order to stay upright—much like the marriage they signify. Having an equal partner and person to lean on as a spouse is crucial for a successful marriage. It’s crazy how quickly this little setup can topple to the ground if one ring falters in its duty to uphold the other. #ringgoals #marriagegoals Anyone who knows me knows I’m a hugger. I believe human touch is something that we often take for granted but is so precious and healing. If you do one thing this Christmas season, embrace those you love, kiss a little longer, and truly take time to be grateful for all the little things even like someone holding your hand. Being your own boss is HARD, yo. It’s not all pretty Instagram photos, traveling, and working with amazing clients. It’s a lot of late nights, coffee binges to force yourself to stay awake and get shit done, and questioning on the daily whether you totally suck or are the most awesome force of boss babe in the universe. Here’s to all of my empowering friends who are not only rocking their own successful businesses but making it look DAMNNNNNN good too! I’m so thankful to know you, talk with you, and witness you creating your empire 💕 Looking through happy wedding photos tonight because I just started sleep training my 10 month old 🤦‍♀️ send this mama all the strong vibes you can. He’s been sleeping horribly and having to come into my bed at night so I have to keep reminding myself this is not only getting me better sleep but him too 😭 ALSO if anyone has any good audiobook suggestions I can use as a distraction the next few nights I’d love you forever. 2018 has been an incredibly hard year and 2019 is only going to be bringing more changes. I’ve needed something positive to latch onto to help get me through all of this and the uplifting words of @msrachelhollis have been a real light in the darkness. Beginning today to start taking time to be truly grateful #starttodayjournal Because it’s been more than a hot minute since I’ve done one of these Friday Introductions things 😂 here’s some random and hopefully entertaining facts about me. 1. I’m afraid of butterflies—yes weird but true. I’m not about that fluttering in my face life. And yes, I have had to shoot a wedding a Krohn Conservatory during the butterfly show #scarredforlife 2. I’m a natural redhead even though most people don’t believe it’s not from a box. 3. I can only whistle by breathing in...and I’ve spent way too many hours trying to do it normally 😩 4. My left foot is bigger than my right foot. 5. I love self help books—I’m looking at you Jen Sincero 6. I’m a self-taught photographer :) no formal degree here. Just a LOT of YouTube videos, online courses, and fucking up along the way until I caught on ;) Every season of life has its beauty but Lordy this rain has me totally drained! It’s funny how we wait and wait for each season and when it comes and it isn’t as we pictured it we immediately are onto dreaming about the next one. This fall has been filled with lots of changes, cute couples, Cohen impromptu photoshoots and of course rain. But I’m learning to not only appreciate all the ups and downs of life’s seasons but actually take time to stand in the rain of life, feel it on my skin, and let it help me realize how alive I really am. If you’re having a bad day, week or ,hell, even a bad year, know you’re not alone and if you need a buddy to stand with you in the rain gimme a call and I’ll bring wine 🍷☔️ Dear Buggy, As your mama I have a lot of wishes for you but the greatest of all of them is for you to love fiercely. There are so many things in this life that are mediocre and it’s so true that love shouldn’t be one of them. From the moment I laid eyes on you my heart burst with a feeling much greater than anything I had felt before and it continues to grow with each day you light up with your contagious smile. If you learn only one thing from me in this life, let it be to follow your heart at all times for it will lead you to great things, listen to your heart when it is trying to protect you, and share your heart 100% with those you love because they (and you) deserve nothing less.
